Layla - 6 months
I just took Layla in for her 6 month appointment. I can't believe my baby is 6 months old. She is rolling all over the floor. She will be at one end of the room and in a matter of a minute she will be at the other end. She has started pulling herself to her hands and knees to start crawling. Luckily she has not started crawling yet but it is just a matter of time. She loves baby food. So far her favorites are sweet potatoes, peas, and pears. She does not like banana. Ya, she is weird. Her stats: 15 lbs (24%), 25 inches long (18%), and 16 inches head circumference (14%). She is just a petite little girl. We love her so much.

About Kyle
Kyle has been playing T-ball this summer. He seems to enjoy it. He is done though after 15 minutes. He has started preschool again and loves it. He is only 2 weeks into it but gets excited to go on preschool days. He celebrated his 4th birthday July 1. I can't believe he is four. He tells me he loves being four because four is his favorite number. some of the things he says just make me laugh. The funny things kids say. He loves playing transformers and super heroes with his "guys". He will play that where ever. He even played it in the swimming pool with his cousin Rayce. We love him so much.
About Miles
Miles is still very busy. He always keeps me on my toes. He is just now starting to talk and it is so fun to hear how he pronounces different words. He loves playing with Kyle and he is always trying to "help" me with Layla. Now that Layla uses the exersaucer, Miles tries to pull her out so he can use it. I find him sitting in the saucer all the time. He is such a joy to us. We love him a lot.
About Layla
Layla has started into the baby food. For the most part she loves it. Her favorites so far are sweet potatoes, peas, and pears. She is starting to get the hang of eating. It is pretty cute watching her eat. She also loves the exersaucer. She has so much fun until Miles hits her in the head with one of the toys or tries to pull her out because he thinks he needs a turn. She has been such a joy and blessing in our life. We love her so much.

Memorial Weekend
I took the kids camping with my sister and her family, my brother, and my other sister and brother in law. Steve unfortunately had to work all weekend so he missed out on the fun. We went down to the Sand Dunes at Little Sahara. The boys had so much fun in the sand. The cutest part of the whole trip was my sisters little boy Rayce, who is 4 years old, took Kyle on a 4 wheeler ride. It was the cutest thing. Night time wasn't always so fun, but thanks to my sister Melissa she helped me stay sane while Miles and Layla were up in the night. Over all it was a fun weekend and the kids had fun, that is the most important.

Kyle's first soccer game
Kyle started soccer this spring and last Saturday was his first game. He did pretty good running back and forth and every once in a while he would kick the ball. He did steal the ball, to bad it was from his own teammate. It is kind of humorous seeing 3 year old kids playing soccer.

Layla, Miles and Kyle
Layla had her 2 week doctor visit this last week. She is growing well. She is 6 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long. She is still a pretty good baby. She has her fussy moments, but what baby doesn't.
Miles had his 15 month doctor visit. He is 22 lbs 4 oz. and 30.71 inches tall. He is only in the 19% for weight, but is doing well.
Kyle had his follow up visit from his surgery. He had his adenoids and tonsils taken out February 3. He has recovered really well from it. He breathes a lot better and has now been sleeping through the night.

Congrats Matt
My little brother Matt received his mission call yesterday. He has been called to the Romania Bucharest mission. I don't know of anyone who has gone to Romania. When he first read his mission call I thought he was joking but no; he is going to Romania. He reports to the MTC June 3. I think we are all in shock but are very excited for him. Congrats Matt. You are going to be a great missionary.

Welcome Layla Rae Holt
Bath time
Kyle meeting Layla
Kyle meeting Layla
Miles meeting Layla
Layla greeted us on February 16, 2009 at 9:19 pm. She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and is 19 inches long. She was 3 weeks early but is doing good. She is healthy and happy and brings joy and love into our home. The boys love her and are always trying to touch and see her.
As for the labor and delivery for any of you that would like to know it went relatively well. I decided to have her natural with no epidural. It was very painful but I am glad I decided to do it. Thankfully I dilate and deliver really fast. I went from 5 cm dilated to her laying on the bed in less than 5 minutes. In fact, I go so fast that there was no doctor in the room. I had 4 nurses in the room and they were great. The doctor arrived a couple minutes after Layla was born.
Layla's bilirubin count is really high so she is on the bilirubin lights to help her body get rid of the excess bilirubin. She started the lights at the hospital and now that we are home she is still on the lights. We take her in daily to get lab draws to see how her body is getting rid of the excess bilirubin. This is nothing new for us. Kyle was also on the bilirubin lights. Hopefully in the next day of two she will be able to be off the lights.
I think I am still in a daze about having a baby again and having a baby girl. I find myself calling Layla a him all the time. I am so grateful for all my kids and love them dearly.
