The worst part of working where I work.....

For those of you who don't know, I work as a nurse at LDS hospital on the Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant floor. The worst part about working here is when a patient that has a special place in your heart passes away. I just had a patient pass away yesterday who I just adored. I loved going into his room and just talking with him. He was such an amazing guy. That is also one of the best things about working here. You meet amazing people who have an affect on your life. I am blessed to work here and meet amazing people who better my life in many ways.

Sick kids....

It is so sad when you have sick kids and there is nothing to do for them. Miles just got over the coxsockie virus, AKA hand-foot-mouth virus. It was so sad he had little blister like sores all over in his mouth, a couple on his feet and one on his hand. The mouth was the worst part. He couldn't eat, drink, sleep, or suck his binkie and if any of you know Miles you know something is wrong. He is a binkie-a-holic. A couple of the nights he would wake up every 20 minutes just in pain and there was nothing to do. I would give him tylenol and ibuprofen, but the medication hurt his mouth. It lasted about 5 days. It was rough. I don't know if I could have taken it anymore. My poor boy. Thank goodness it is over. Sorry to anyone we may have infected. I don't wish that on anyone.

Bowling

This was the first time we took the boys out bowling. They had a great time as did the rest of us. The kids were done after about the 6th frame, but it was fun. We will definitely do it again.

Christmas 2009

I know it has been a while. Things have been a little busy and really I just haven't gotten around to updating. Sorry everyone who looks at the blog.

Christmas was a blast this year with 3 kids. They all had a lot of fun. They "enjoyed" seeing Santa at the Festival of Trees, and were excited for him to come visit the house. I was crazy and decided to do a lot of homemade gifts to save on money. I made file folder games for the boys and sowed Quillows for all the kids. It was fun watching their faces as they opened their gifts. Steve mom made jammies again for all the grandkids. She does it every year and the kids just love them.
