Welcome Layla Rae Holt

Under the bilirubin lights at the hospital

Getting ready to go home from the hospital

Bath time

Kyle meeting Layla

Miles meeting Layla

Layla greeted us on February 16, 2009 at 9:19 pm. She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and is 19 inches long. She was 3 weeks early but is doing good. She is healthy and happy and brings joy and love into our home. The boys love her and are always trying to touch and see her.

As for the labor and delivery for any of you that would like to know it went relatively well. I decided to have her natural with no epidural. It was very painful but I am glad I decided to do it. Thankfully I dilate and deliver really fast. I went from 5 cm dilated to her laying on the bed in less than 5 minutes. In fact, I go so fast that there was no doctor in the room. I had 4 nurses in the room and they were great. The doctor arrived a couple minutes after Layla was born.

Layla's bilirubin count is really high so she is on the bilirubin lights to help her body get rid of the excess bilirubin. She started the lights at the hospital and now that we are home she is still on the lights. We take her in daily to get lab draws to see how her body is getting rid of the excess bilirubin. This is nothing new for us. Kyle was also on the bilirubin lights. Hopefully in the next day of two she will be able to be off the lights.

I think I am still in a daze about having a baby again and having a baby girl. I find myself calling Layla a him all the time. I am so grateful for all my kids and love them dearly.

Fun and Random Pictures

Kyle eating Mac N Cheese

I came in from the kitchen and found both boys asleep on the floor

Woke up one morning and found Kyle in the crib with Miles

Miles thought he could climb over the stool and got stuck

Thought I would throw some fun and random pictures of the boys since it has been awhile since I blogged.

Kyle learning to write his name

We have been teaching Kyle to trace and write his name. He is doing pretty well for a 3 year old. Notice the way he holds his pencil. We are still trying to teach him a better way to do that.
